About IUP
The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) is a premier 4-year program founded with the vision to enhance international students' experience at NCCU. As one of the most valued institution of higher education in Taiwan, NCCU particularly stresses academic vigor and individual growth in undergraduate education.IUP is designed to enable students achieve academic growth; at the same time accelerate the process of mastering Chinese as a second language during their four years at NCCU. In an age where the Greater China Region has become one of the key world economic powerhouses, Chinese proficiency will become the future competitive advantage of IUP students. To ease the transition into the Chinese language learning, the IUP provides English taught courses and free mandatory Chinese language courses during the freshmen and sophomore years. IUP students are required and expected to take Chinese taught courses during the junior and senior years at NCCU. To graduate, IUP students must fulfill their chosen field requirements as well as sufficient Chinese Proficiency. |

Eligibility
Taiwan scholarship recipients proficient in English, committed to pursuing a bachelor degree and mastering Chinese language during their time at NCCU. Other applicants will be reviewed for his/her eligibility.

Conditions for maintaining enrollment status
IUP students are expected to obtain Chinese language proficiency by their third year in college and take regular university courses of their respective college or department.
